Concord, named Tree City USA for over 20 years, has long been known for its extensive park system offering something for everyone from toddlers to active seniors.
Concord has 31 parks consisting of 367 acres of developed parkland. These parks house 14 soccer and 21 baseball/softball fields, 14 playgrounds, eight reservable group picnic areas, 17 tennis courts, handball and basketball courts, 10 bocce courts and two community swimming pools. There are 52 acres of award-winning landscaped medians. Additionally, there are two dozen school sites with playgrounds and ball fields in Concord. The Markham Nature Park and Arboretum is the home of Concord's community gardens, where residents can rent garden plots to grow vegetables and flowers.
